The firefighting institute of the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia ensures the fit of the technology for firefighting tasks and oversees legal and organizational aspects. The modern training facilities allows to simulate firefighting interventions.

Dräger Safety AG & Co KGaA will ensure that the landmarke system matches market demands. Its market position and expertise will ensure commercial success.

The University of Siegen coordinates the projects and by performing user studies is responsible that the designed system matches users’ needs.

The fire brigade of Cologne is the central partner for defining the requirements throughout the research project and thereby ensures the added value and practical contribution of the landmarke system.

Interactive Wear AG integrates system components into firefighting workwear. Wearable interfaces should allow firefighters to interact with landmarke sensor nodes.

The Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Information Technology FIT performs research on the wearable, context aware human-computer interaction techniques.

 

Waldemar Winckel GmbH & Co. KG is a specialist for RFID technology and will work on RFID technology in close cooperation with TECO.

The Institute of Telematics, Telecooperation Office researches sensor technology and works on the middleware framework for the landmarke system.

 
 

The Bremer Institut für Betriebstechnik und angewandte Arbeitswissenschaft (BIBA) is an engineering research institute that will work on casings for landmarke system components so that they match firefighting requirements.

The landmarke project is supported by the German ministry for education and research in the security research framework of the German federal government.
